Nellie Gubler

Meet Nellie McArthur Gubler. This is my Great Grandmother. She died recently at the age of 99. We were able to travel to St. George for her funeral. She was the mother of 12, Grandmother to nearly 100, Great Grandmother to nearly 100, and her Great Great Grandkids are also getting to be quite numerous. I consider myself very lucky to have actually know my Great Grandmother. She was a wonderful woman.

Grandma loved to sing and especially loved Hymns and Primary Songs. She memorized nearly all of them and was alwasy singing. At her funeral all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren; well you get the picture, stood to sing a medley of songs. While singing I turned around to check on my Ila. (She was sitting with my sister.) We were singing I am a child of God I promptly began crying not because I was sad but because my beautiful 4 year old was singing with everything she had. It still brings tears to my eyes. Songs have such a special way of testifying truth to the soul. Especially when sung by an innocent child.

Grandma we love you and know you are so happy to be reunited with Grandpa Emil after 28 years without him. Until we meet again!

Oh Arin, That is so sweet! What a neat story. It makes me very grateful to have such good memories and time to spend with my Grandma Layton. :)
