Farewell, I think

To blog or not to blog that is the question.

It has been months since I posted to this little bog of ours. I don't think too many people noticed. I find myself not really wanting to blog. Maybe just not really knowing what to blog about. Everyday life is happening but it just doesn't seem all that exciting. Who really wants to read about another fit thrown by this kid or another mess made by that one?

I just don't have the energy, so I bid you farewell little blog. At least for now!

Halloween Crafts

Last week Duder, Lil' Miss, and I were at the craft store. Duder saw these fun sparkly pom poms and wanted to do something with them. I bought a bag and some fun colored googly eyes and this is what we came up with. We made a bunch of these and then I hung them on my bannister. It looks so cute and the kids love that they made them. I think the bat is my favorite.

Future Hairdresser?

I was busily disinfecting my house after another bout of illnesses when I decided that I had better check on the munchkins. This is what I found. Silly kids!

I know it looks like Lil' Miss is in pain and not enjoying this at all but she was trying to say "CHEESE" for the camera and this is her new "smile".

EEK!

I use my bog as a journal of sorts and the parallels between the two have become painfully obvious in the sporadic nature of posts and entries. I am going to attempt to be better but no promises are being made. I will however do my best. Now on to the back dating of posts so that they will remain in chronological order. :)

Back to School

The first day of school is always highly anticipated, especially for Princess. She painstakingly picks out which of her new outfits will be worn. This year was a much harder decision than last. Then to pick out earrings, which are a new accessory this year, and the shoes; we mustn't forget the shoes. Oh and the hair, at least she went with something simple. It was THE perfect outfit. My baby looks so grown up.

Here she is with our cute neighbor. He is in her class again this year and she was pretty pleased about that. We took pics of the kids in front of this bush on the first day last year too as well as the last. It is hard to measure their growth in front of it unless you are counting missing teeth since I think that dang bush is growing just as fast as the kids. Silly Jake always dancing!
Headed to get on the bus for the first day of FIRST grade. EEK! Where has all the time gone? The cute blonde? Another neighbor, not in the first grade. :)

One Very Busy Summer!

We have had one busy summer. That would be why our cute little blog has not been updated for so long. I am really looking forward to school starting and we have already started to get back in the swing of things. Rather than bore you with all the details in individual posts I will give you a quick rundown of all the highlights.

MAY
The kiddos had their recital. Duder made an awesome lion and showed some sweet tumbling moves. Princess was a kitty and performed two dances. This year we were on time and nothing was missed, unlike last year.

The Princess "graduated" from Kindergarten.

JUNE

Both Duder and Princess played t-ball. I coached Princess' team this year with my friend Kristy.

We went on our first camping trip.

JULY

We took a week long "vacation". We started by heading south to Provo where we met up with Layton Dad's family. We visited Bridal Veil Falls, celebrated Lil' Miss' birthday and sent Uncle Rustimator to the MTC. We then headed further south to Las Vegas where we met up with Layton Mom's family. While there we attended the funeral of Layton Mom's uncle, visited M&M World, and ate at an amazing buffet. Then we headed back north to SLC where we toured the Conference Center, and spent hours at the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. When we got home we swore off of traveling. ;)

Princess lost her first tooth.

Layton Dad turned 30.

I took the kids and headed to my sister's house. We went for the 24th of July celebration they have there. My kids participated in a Gymkana, we watched the parade, went to the rodeo where Princess did some Mutton Busting, watched some fireworks, visited with family, played with cousins, got sunburns, ate too much, well you get the idea. While there I also made and sold A LOT of bows. We were having so much fun that my sister then decided to come home with us. So we loaded 5 kids and all our stuff and headed back to Idaho.

While they were here we went to the zoo, the park, the water park, roller skating, had pictures taken, and bought a swing set.

Needless to say July was very busy.

AUGUST

Was not as busy as July. Thank heavens. After my sister went home we had a few days to get Layton Dad ready to go to Florida for a week and a half. We started swim lessons and shipped off Layton Dad. While he was gone we finished swim lessons. This year I did Mommy & Me with Lil' Miss so we all got to swim every day. Luckily those two weeks forced us back into some kind of schedule which should hopefully make going back to school a little easier. While Layton Dad was gone we did all the school/fall shopping so we are all ready for next week.

As much fun as we have had I am very ready for school to start so that we can have a routine again. Then when summer comes again we will be once again excited for the chaos.

Happy Birthday to ME!

I celebrated my 30th birthday recently and got everything I asked for and then some. I told Layton Dad that all I really wanted was a party with all my friends. Not all of my friends were able to come but he did follow through with a party even if it was at the last minute. He even got me a hammock stand that I have been wanting for years! Sort of. I got a $100 bill with a sticky note that said "Hammock Stand $$ Only!" That counts as a hammock stand, right?

We got rained out of our BBQ but made the most of it and had a great time anyway! Thank You everyone for coming to celebrate with me.

Steve
(For some reason I didn't get a pic of Steve & Zoe together.)

The kids all lined up waiting for cake.

I even blew out all 30 candles with one breath.

Conversation at Dinner

Layton Dad: Duder are you going to take your mom on a date?

Duder: No, I don't know how to drive yet.

We all got a good laugh out of this. What a funny little boy. He didn't even have to think about it, without a pause that is what came out of his little mouth.
